“I’d like to check you for ticks”

May_Tick

West Virginia native Brad Paisley made the phrase, “I’d like to check you for ticks” popular in a song… it’s meant to be funny, but did you know that checking your dogs and cats for ticks is actually really important?

There are three parts to decreasing the risk of tick borne diseases to your pet:

  1. Checking for ticks
  2. Flea and tick prevention (Nexgard, Bravecto, Seresto, Revolution)
  3. Lyme vaccination yearly (canines only)

Make sure you’re checking for ticks everyday if your pet is spending time outdoors. This is important for their health as well as yours… ticks love humans too!
